Maruti employees to continue stir

GURGAON: Protesting workers at Maruti Suzuki India’s plant at Manesar continued their demonstration on Sunday despite the company being closed on the weekend. About 200 workers sat on a dharna. To take ahead their protest, the agitating workers employees have convened a meeting on Monday at Devilal Park in the city.
Sources said that the deputy labour commissioner J P Maan held a discussion with disgruntled workers till late on Sunday evening, but to no avail.
Production at the Manesar plant of car manufacturing major Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) was adversely affected on Saturday afternoon after nearly a thousand employees had gone on strike. “We hope the management agrees to the demands of employees and the issue is resolved,” Maan said.
